Flash Gordon No. 3 from 1951, "very good" with some rub along the left edge between the staples. The original comic strip was developed by Alex Raymond -- who was to become an influence on artists including Frank Frazetta -- in 1933 to compete with "Buck Rogers," although Raymond receives no credit here. The 1936 theatrical serial starred Buster Crabbe, with Charles Middletown as Ming the Merciless. Dino De Laurentiis produced a camp remake in 1980, directed by Mike Hodges. (George Lucas had offered to direct, but instead made "Star Wars" when De Laurentiis turned him down.) Sam J. Jones starred, with Max von Sydow as Ming and Ornella Muti as Princess Aura. Golden Age comic book from the estate of comic illustrator Ken Landau, Henderson, Nevada. Here reduced from $55. Seller Inventory # 011155
