Blackie and Sons Limited. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Dust jacket condition: Poor. The wear to the jacket is commensurate with a well-used copy of its age. It has substantial bumping and abrasions at the corners and at the spine, and there are several tears. The laminate has become creased and crumpled, and a piece of the jacket over the spine about 2cm in hight and 1.5cm in width has come away and slid towards the base underneath the laminate. There is also a substantial tear across the jacket on the spine, and a large chip to the top of the spine about 1cm in height and 1.5 in length. The book is in Good condition. Despite some bumping to the corners and spine, and some discolouration, and some small marks and stains, the text on the cover and spine are clear, as is the image on the spine. The top fore-edge is dark green, and has largely retained this colour, aside from near the spine and the fore-edge. There is substantial foxing to the fore-edge and the tail-edge. There are also areas of foxing through the book, heavier in some areas than others. Even where the foxing is at its worst the text is legible. There is a B+W frontispiece and 3 plates - all present. There is an inscription of a name and a date on in the top left of the ffep. Seller Inventory # 002041
