About this Item
Octavo, variuos pagination. Several folding plates, in excellent condition. A very good, crisp copy in the publisher's burgundy cloth. Neatly rebacked, with original spine laid down. Inner hinges consequently strengthened. Mildly ex-library, with just a few internal markings; none externally. Armorial bookplate on the front paste-down. There is some pencil writing to that same area from a previous cataloguer, noting 2 volumes. Another volume is not present with this copy. By our count, there are 15 essays/pamphlets bound together at the author's behest. Some of these bear title pages; others just have caption titles. If any of the latter group are considered part of other works, we are not aware; our count simply tallies all of the groups of page numebr folios. A very scarce volume by this independent and largely self-educated Oxford meteorologist, who believed that electricity was largely responsible for weather patterns and extreme weather events. OCLC records are naturally muddled, but it's clear that no more than about a dozen of these bound-up volumes are retained by worldwide libraries. Rare. Seller Inventory # 8986
