Published in Frankwell, Shrewsbury by Edward Cassey and Co, in 1871, this is a scarce 413 page Victorian directory of Shropshire, packed with invaluable information on the people and trades in the towns and villages of the county, bound in an old half leather binding, internally illustrated with a folding map of the county, the covers are heavily rubbed and worn, some cracking to leather joints though boards still firmly attached, internally old ownership inscription to front endpaper, some straining to inner front joint, endpapers heavily foxed and browned, foxing to page edges throughout, the map has a tear with no loss at the attachment point, splits along fold lines else in acceptable condition.
