Minor bump to the bottom corner of the front board. Very small wormholes affect the title page and the next two leaves, else the Sermon is in fine condition. A very rare pamphlet bound in a very lovely binding. Title within woodcut historiated border by Lucas Cranach the Elder. Luther sent this letter to his friend Lang in Erfurt in 1522 with the authority to have it printed if he thought it suitable. "As early as March 28, 1522In a letter to Johannes Lange, Luther had expressed his intention to write a letter ad Erphordiensem ecclesiam when he found time . this time it was of value to him to address an entire congregation 'gathered in God' .
