Very nice 1948 hardcover in green cloth covered boards showing bumped tips and spine ends, small soil mark on rear board and a small 'ding' on the foot of the front cover. No names, tears or soil in the tight, crisp 256pp text, only some light foxing on the edge of page block. Not ex-library. Professionally reproduced dust jacket is complete and shows wrap-around art to the spine edge. DJ art by Peter Biegel, no other illustrations within. This is the exciting story of Scatts Gascoyne, who felt that the war had cheated him out of his birthright of sport and enjoyment. He dashed almost literally from the battlefield to buy a French racehorse He rushed Due Cordery into marriage he plunged into steeplechasing then set up as an owner on the flat.
