First UK Edition Publisher's green boards with silver lettering to the spine. The merest hint of foxing to the top edge and a tiny bump to the top edge of the back board otherwise a fine, sharp copy (with no inscriptions and absolutely no fading to the boards) in a very fine dustwrapper (certainly the best example of the dustwrapper that I have encountered in the last 15 years) with the VERY SCARCE DAILY GRAPHIC Book Find of the Month blue wrap-around band. A really lovely example of one of the key books of the 20th century. A frightening and entirely plausible post-apocalyptic story. A classic. The basis for the 1963 British science fiction horror film of the same name in CinemaScope and Eastmancolor, produced by George Pitcher and Philip Yordan, and directed by Steve Sekely and Freddie Francis and starring Howard Keel and Nicole Maurey, Photographs/scans available upon request.
