The author's own copy of the first US edition, (UK title : Death In Captivity). Michael Gilbert draws on his own experiences during WW2 in this fast-paced thriller set in a prisoner of war camp. The book, which bears Michael Gilbert's personal library label to the front pastedown, comes directly from his library in Kent. It was among a number of books purchased by the seller, an acquaintance of Michael Gilbert, from the author's family following his author's death in 2006. The book is near fine, states FIRST EDITION G-B to verso of title page. The dustwrapper is VG+ with some slight wear and minor loss at the head and tail of the spine. Seller Inventory # 004069
