About this Item
First Edition. Original cloth-backed card covers printed in red lettering. Edges rubbed and corners bumped. pp [x], 192, ix, [12] adverts and a folding plan of Dymock and environs. Photographs reproduced throughout. A VG+ copy. A comprehensive history of Dymock, a village in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, about four miles south of Ledbury, perhaps best known as the home of Stinking Bishop cheese. Also the home of the Dymock poets during the period 1911 1914, namely Wilfrid Wilson Gibson, Lascelles Abercrombie and the American-born Robert Frost.
