1953. First edition. Unpaginated with 24 full-page colour illustations by Grace Lodge and a black and white illustration on the front and rear endpapers. There is a 1 page catalogue at the end of the book. This is a story in series 497 of the collectable "Ladybird" series of books. The book is bound in paper covered boards with black titling and a colour illustration on the front board. This is probably best regarded as being a good reading copy as the boards have shelf wear with some soiling and staining and the corners are bumped with a little loss to the paper covering the corner tips. The paper coveing the spine is missing. The contents are in better condition being tight and clean apart from a little staining on the bottom edge of the first and last few pages, including the title page. There is no inscription.
