Quarter-cloth and boards, printed paper cover-label, folio, 45 x 29 cm, vi, 159 pp, 4 plates (of which 3 are in red and black). 524 entries. The illustrated catalogue of a major manuscript collection. Charles Burney, D.D. (d.1817), classicist, teacher and bibliophile, amassed a collection of more than 500 manuscripts which was purchased from his executors in 1818. The collection emphasises classical, biblical and medieval authors, and has particular strengths in humanistic and Greek material. An ex-library copy with a manuscript casemark at the foot of the front board, label recording presentation of the vlume on front pastedown endpaper, blindstamp on title-page and last few leaves, number on verso of title-page. Boards darkened and duststained, a few leaves with témoins, occasional fingermarking or dustmarks to contents, otherwise Good. Seller Inventory # ABE-31056
