About this Item
First edition, first printing; paperback original. The 1960s influenced, collage-style horror scene art by 'Hoot' is exclusive to this first edition. Both Wilhelm's and Thomas's first novel earned a Nebula nomination and is a science fiction/ horror novel that features a rapidly growing, hungry green living thing, that begins in Chicago's sewers, and slimes, pulsing, into the pipes of the city. Wilhelm garnered numerous accolades including two Hugo and four Nebula Awards. Nicely preserved mass-market paperback collectible. Barely perceptible crease/bend to the upper corner tips, else very nearly fine, very tight and probably unread, square, and bright in white glossy stiff-card wraps with sixties-style color front cover art by Hoot von Zitzewitz, purple and black titles to the front cover and to spine, all page edges red; printed code F1169 and .50c price still intact to the front cover and spine. *(No fading nor creases to the spine.) 143 pages; plus 1 page of ads. to the rear.
