Large octavo. lxxxii + 332pp. Publisher's blue cloth with gilt titling and illustrated band to spine, gilt device to upper cover, black and white frontispiece; plates and in-text illustrations. Maps, notes & glossary. Boards spotted, text block heavily foxed, previous owners name/date on the corner of the front free end-paper else VG. The good dustwrapper is heavily rubbed/worn with some loss at the base of spine (unevenly distributed but approx 2 - 2.5 inches) with one large piece held in place at the base of the spine. N.B: author sometimes credited as the inspiration for the fictional character Indian Jones: Laurence Waddell's revisionist study of the Scandinavian epic Edda led him to conclude that it had actually originated in Britain (hence the title). N.N.B: once a direct influence on the then prolific British-Israelite movement but still studied by various contemporary Christian Identity sects in America.
