First UK edition, first impression. 8vo. Original red cloth, Dust-jacket. Ink name to front free endpaper; cloth near fine; dust-jacket slightly rubbed with some chipping to spine ends, some creasing, overall VG. The first British edition of the American author's most famous novel, originally appearing in abridged form in The American Magazine (October 1946).
