From the introduction - "The University Library has already published a simple catalogue of its Shakespeare Collection, but in the ten years which have elapsed since its compilation the collection has grown to almost five times its original size. The present catalogue is offered now as part of the celebrations to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of the University. The catalogue itself lists all of the 3,122 items which form the Shakespeare Collection. For the sake of completeness we have ventured also to add a short biography of Shakespeare, a chronological table of his life and works, and notes on selected items from the rarer books in the collection.
