First US paperback edition. Pocket Book 862. Originally published in hard covers by Doubleday in 1950. Reading creasing and edge rubbing to the spine. Only light edge wear to the front and rear covers. The covers are pulling away from the text block a little at the front of the book. The page edges are a little uneven and a thin strip of the pages is exposed at the right edge of the front cover with the first page have a little chipping to the right edge. There are no loose pages but the book does feel fragile and careful handling will be necessary when reading it. Small number stamped to the final page and the pages are a little browned but are otherwise unmarked. First printing. Postage charge will be reduced by £1.50 when the order is processed. I will generally use whatever method is covered by the standard postage charge but if you specifically wish to have it sent surface or airmail or anything else please ask and I will amend the charge accordingly. Please only choose the cheaper surface mail option if you do not mind waiting - the suggested upper time limit for this form of delivery is 60 days and it can take that long - and sometimes a bit longer. If therefore you wish to receive the book in 2-3 weeks then please opt for the more expensive postage option which will guarantee airmail delivery.
