True first American printing with original unclipped jacket ($3.50). Illustrated by Henry C. Pitz. Jacket has faults - namely edge/shelf wear, one large (approx. 3cms) tear to front lower edge, a few small marks, patchy fading (including to spine), the odd small crease/rub to edges, little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine, old tape residue/marks to front/back inner flaps, browning to reverse (white side), minor pushing/bumping to corners, the odd small rub and is in only good condition. Boards are near fine (having been well protected by the jacket) with a hint of pushing/bumping to corners and minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Inside boards/end-papers tanned with the odd small mark/spots of foxing. Pages little tanned. Odd small mark/minor foxing to top edge of pages. Odd small mark/spot of foxing to page edges and bottoms. Couple of old tape marks/residue to front/back end-papers. Occasional small marks/spots of foxing to pages. No other faults.
