Quarto. 21pp., 47 photographs. Original photo-illustrated wraps with white lettering on cover. Poetic introduction by Jakob Kneip contemplating old age in various settings. Illustrated with 47 impressive full page b/w portrait photographs of elderly people by Erich Retzlaff (1899-1993) known for his portraits of workers, farmers, peasants and peasant costumes. "Das Antlitz des Alters" became Retzlaff's first book and cemented his reputation as an art photographer. Three magazine clippings laid in at rear. Text in German. Binding rubbed with light wear along edges, minor chips. Light age-toning of text pages and minor foxing to margins of first photograph, not affecting image. International:
International First Class typically starts at $20. International Priority is typically $35 or less if under four pounds weight, and starts at $40 if over four pounds. International Express is a faster and more expensive option.
