A small expedition of fossil hunters, lost in the unexplored Australian desert, encounter a dangerous enemy - living fossils, or Ant Men. When a team member is taken captive, Professor Orcutt must lead a dangerous rescue mission to save him. Author Eric North (aka Bernard Cronin) was born in England but spent the majority of his life in Australia, so his background for the story comes straight from the Central Australian desert as he knew it.
