1902. 1st Edition. Description: Red leather binding with gilt design and title to front and titles to spine. Red endpapers with ex libris stating "From the library of George Charles Williamson Burgh House Hampstead". Colour frontis with tissue guard. Colour and bw plates and other illustrations throughout. Language: English. Book Condition> Good: Light wear to sharp corners, edges and spine ends. Wear to spine edges. Tightly bound with ex libris plate to front paste down and strong hinges. Lightly tanned unmarked pages with heavier tanning to margins of tissue guards. DJ Condition> Na. 181pp. Size: 32mo, 15.5cm by 12cm. Book Resume: Dr George Williamson lived in Burgh House from 1906 to 1924 with his wife Louisa and their three children Williamson was an international art expert, specialising in portrait miniatures and trade tokens He wrote over a hundred books, including one about Wedgwood's Frog Service - a 980-piece dinner set from 1774, which included plates illustrating 27 views of Hampstead, five of which depicted Burgh House itself Upon arrival at Burgh House, Williamson immediately transformed the Music Room into a vast art library, holding around 12,000 books, as shown in this print.
