About this Item
1930. First edition. [ix], 188pp. This hard-to-find book is based on an essay by the author for which he was awarded the Lothian Prize at Oxford in 1926, though the period dealt with has been shortened and four additional years have resulted in a different work. The main concern of the book is the use made of such routes across the Alps during a specific period, that between the coronation of Otto I and the death of Frederick II (962-1250) and to invesitgate their importance, political and economic, at this time. The book is bound in the original blue cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and soiling on the boards. Minor bubbling to the cloth on the upper board. The contents are tight and clean with a previous owner's name written on the front fixed endpaper. Seller Inventory # MedievalHist293
