Small 8vo. Bound in light green cloth striped and lettered in gilt on spine. It is the Typescript for the book . The book is made with original hand drawn illustrations with hand colouring. Although there is no information written in the book , one can only assume, due to the high quality of the work and comparing it to the published edition, this is the original artists version of the book. The text is hand typed on an type writer and follows the text except on one page , page 26 , which I have photographed, the last two images show the original version and the published version with the extra text. There are 95 numbered pages, illustrations and hand typed text are printed on one side only. Illustrated with 24 hand coloured illustrations, the first one has a little smearing to the colour. The pages have some light handling folds else a good copy. Unique copy. Sold with the published, but text incomplete edition of the published version.Size 125 x 80 mm, 5 x 3 inches, Jean C Archer is an elusive illustrator. All my reference books regarding illustrators of this period, do not have any reference to her. But she did illustrate several books for the 'Dumpy Book Series' which were published between 1897-1904 by Grant Richards. Seller Inventory # 60003555
