AbeBooks is proud to work closely with a number of bookseller associations around the world. Members of these associations are dedicated to upholding high professional standards in the rare bookselling business. They are committed to providing the finest customer service, and protecting the cultural legacies of the book and history.

Founded in 1906, the ABA is the oldest rare books association in the world. It is the UK's leading trade organization for dealers in old and rare books, manuscripts, maps, print and ephemera.
The Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association, or PBFA for short, is a bookselling association based in the UK dedicated to facilitating the trade of rare, out-of-print and antiquarian books through a series of fairs that take place across the country. It is the largest bookselling association in Europe.
The League retains its original official languages, English and French, and consists of twenty-two national associations representing some thirty-seven countries and around 1700 individual bookselling firms.


The ABAA was founded in 1949 as a trade organization to promote interest in rare and antiquarian books.

Since its founding in 1999, IOBA has grown to become the principal international professional bookselling association devoted exclusively to online bookselling - with over 300 members globally.



Established in 1977, the Midwest Antiquarian Booksellers Association (MWABA) is a non-profit, professional organization of approximately 50 booksellers who deal in antiquarian, rare, collectible and used books, and related items.
An organization of Canadian professional booksellers, the association's mandate is to foster an interest in rare books, manuscripts, prints, maps and ephemera, and maintain high standards in the antiquarian book trade.
The ANZAAB was formed in 1977 to promote the standing, welfare, and growth of the local antiquarian book business. It seeks to promote best practices in antiquarian bookselling.
The Nederlandsche Vereeniging van Antiquaren (NVvA) is the Dutch trade organization for dealers in old and rare books, prints, and maps. The association was established in 1935.

Genossenschaft der Internet-antiquare eG (GIAQ), based in Berlin, is a cooperative society of approximately 100 professional antiquarian booksellers founded in 2001.
The Antiquarian Booksellers and Engraving Traders Association of Switzerland (VEBUKU) was founded in 1939 and has been affiliated with ILAB since 1947.
The Association of Antiquarian Booksellers of Argentina (ALADA) was founded in 1952 by a group of prominent booksellers.
The Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of Germany (VDA) has over 200 members and is the country’s most important trade organization for the professional rare book trade.
The Asociación Ibérica de Librerías Anticuarias (AILA) is the Iberian Association of Antique Bookstores, a member of ILAB since 1992. It is made up of bookstores from Spain, Portugal and Spanish-speaking countries.
SNEAB was born in 2014, as an expanded incarnation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island Antiquarian Booksellers, which began in 1976. Southern New England Booksellers encompasses Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

The Bundesverband Deutscher Galerien und Kunsthändler e.V. (BVDG, Federal Association of German Galleries and Art Dealers) is an association of gallery owners, editors and art dealers who work with art from the 19th to 21st century.
