The history of a small rural community in Aberdeen Parish, Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada. Contains much of interest to genealogical researchers concerned with the area. History has only light general wear, supplement has cover foxing/light cover soil. Scarce. (C/IT) Size: Small Quartos -- from 9¾" to 12" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 018075

Item Description: Pocket 81787 / Kangaroo Book, New York, 1978. Paperback. Book Condition: Good. 1st paperback edition. This is a wacky one, boys and girls. In 1959 a 31-year-old lawyer named Burt Pugach began courting 21-year-old Linda Riss, who, once she learned that he already had himself a wife and daughter, ended the courtship. Pissed, Pugach hired a trio of thugs to throw lye in her face, leaving that face permanently scarred, as well as blinding her in one eye and nearly blinding her in the other. Pugach spent 14 years in prison, during which time he wrote regularly to his victim, and when he was released in 1974 he started wooing her all over again. They picked up their relationship and were married not too long afterward (yup, you read it right). In 1997 the ever-adventuresome Burt was enjoying yet another affair, and once again threatened a woman with violence. His ever-loyal wife testified on his behalf, as a character witness (I can't make up this stuff). In 2007, Dan Klores produced a documentary film about this peculiar pair, and in 2013 Linda departed this ball of dirt, probably feeling guilty that she was letting down the love of her life. 278 pages. Some spine slant/roll, rubbing/impressions, light cover soil, moderately smudged/soiled edges, light tanning. Size: Sextodecimo -- from 5.75" to 6.75". Bookseller Inventory # 018056

Item Description: Kentville Publishing Company, Kentville, 1933. Stiff Card Wraps. Book Condition: Good to Very Good. First Edition. Mellick tells young readers of his boyhood on Prince Edward Island, and about all the things that made it special. Silver titles/decoration/rule on blue wraps, 130 pages, illustrated. This copy signed twice by Mellick, once on the first end paper, and once, upside down, on the rear end paper, suggesting that the author accidentally signed this side first before realizing his mistake, flipping the book over, and signing it where he intended. Regardless, a scarce item signed. Moderately soiled covers, w/soil to top right corners of last 50+ pages and back cover, beginning as a wee mark and gradually increasing in size until at the end it takes up about an inch along top and side of pages (but about two inches to top and edge of back cover). Internally tight. Size: Duodecimo -- from 6.75" to 7.75" tall. Signed by Mellick, at front and back. Bookseller Inventory # 018044

The lovely and talented (if a smidgeon immoral) Zena makes a fair chunk of change due to her involvement with an international dope ring with ties to white slavery, and even though she has fun a'plenty -- an orgy that ends in gunplay, for instance (can't COUNT how many times that's happened to me) -- she tires of white slavery and dope and lust fulfilled (how is that even POSSIBLE?????), and tries to return to a normal life, only to find her new path "beset with pitfalls" (well geez, giving up a swell life like that, I would certainly hope so!). 160 pages. Spine slant, handling wear, moderate edgewear, a bit of tanning. Internally tight and clean. Sextodecimo -- from 5.75" to 6.75". Bookseller Inventory # 018040
