About this Item: Bee-Line 319N / Beeline, New York, 1968. Paperback. Condition: About Very Good. First Edition. The amorous adventures of a young woman who just can't seem to get enough of whatever it is that young women just can't seem to get enough of (in my experience there are no such women, but perhaps the guys who write smut books hang out with women who run in different circles than the ones I hang out with -- probably just as well, because I think I've used up my disease quota for one lifetime). Light rubbing, 1/2" separation to bottom right spine edge, subsequent crease to left edge of front cover, tiny sticker pull to top right portion of front cover, a bit of edge foxing, some internal foxing on inside covers/end papers, rough separation of a few unopened pages resulted in some chipping/edge tears, moderate general wear. Internally tight and clean (probably not something we could say about our protagonist). An uncommon title. Size: Sextodecimo -- from 5.75" to 6.75". Seller Inventory # 018146

About this Item: Carlyle Communications / Cameo Collection / Beeline CC3201-R, New York, 1979. Paperback. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. Paperback original. Ever alert to whatever opportunities may arise to put his poetic prowess on display, the author of the back cover copy gets a tip of the cap for this little piece of work: "Mary is wary about her jungle safari until she aims her lust at sexy male quarry. When she catches her game they are never the same and her wild loving drives them passionately insane." (I think that explains why he's writing the cover copy for smutty paperbacks instead of accepting six-figure advances for his next literary gem.) 184 pages + 8 pages of advertisements for other literary masterpieces from this publisher. An unread copy. (A few words about my grading: Fine -- or As New -- is my highest grade, and it's down from there. "Mint" is a word referring to a delightful flavour or an imposing edifice where coins are produced. It may be acceptable where baseball cards or comic books or coins and the like are concerned, but it has no legitimate place in the book world.) Size: Octavo -- from 7.75" to 9.75" Tall. About this Item: Hamish Hamilton / Penguin Canada, Toronto, 2014. Hard Cover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. The director of such feel-good films as Dead Ringers, Scanners, Videodrome, Rabid, and many similiar heartwarming tales, presents the timeless story of a husband-and-wife pair of French intellectuals, the wife found dead and partially eaten in their Paris apartment, the husband deciding that a little trip to Tokyo might be a real good idea. When a young journalist travels to Tokyo to interview the hungry little bugger, her boyfriend seduces a cancer patient and gets a sexually transmitted disease whose origin he traces to a ritzy community in Toronto. Just a light-hearted romantic romp, really -- although the dust jacket flap copy would have us believe that it's "an extraordinary, sexually charged novel of dark impusles and appetites." Black boards w/red foil spine lettering, 284 pages, dust jacket design by Chip Kidd. Dust jacket w/light edgewear, rubbing, a bit of discolouration to black panels. All in all a pretty nice copy. About this Item: Twelve / 12 / Grand Central Publishing, New York, 2013. Stiff Card Wraps. Condition: Very Good. Uncorrected Proof. Miles tells the complete story of one of the three most important people of the Beat Generation (along with Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg) -- although a legitimate case could be made for there being four such people, the last being Joan Vollmer, Burroughs's common-law wife, whom he shot while attempting, drunk and drug-addled, to shoot a water tumbler from her head, William Tell-style. 712 pages (including notes, bibliography, 20 blank index pages), illustrated. Rubbing, light edgewear, a little smudging, crinkled/partially turned top left corner of back cover, similar flaws to same area of last hundred pages of so, diminishing the further into the book one goes.
