Condition: Very good plus. First Edition. Original signed pencil drawing from the legendary neo-dada mail artist, honoring one of his favorite artists, noted children's book illustrator Wanda Gag. Johnson incorporated Gag into numerous works (in part he liked the palindromic quality of the name) and he named his own imaginary tw…in sister, "Wanda Johnson," after Gag. A lovely homage connecting two important artists bound by their sense of childlike playfulness. 5.5'' x 3.5''. Original penciled drawing featuring a central "Gag-ish" decorative element, with "WANDA / GAG / 1893-1946" written below, and signed by Johnson at the right. One edge rough from (presumably) removal from small notebook. A few faint creases and a small stain, not effecting image. Nicely mounted and floated in an archival frame. Signed.
