In the proem to Meleager's Stefanos {Anih. Pal. iv. 1) the flower which represents his contribution to the Garland is lost in a corruption but the poet himself is listed in the words (24) os Diós ék kourón éschen éponymíen. Only in one other place does Meleager resort to such periphrasis. - Wikipedia: Andrew Sydenham Farrar Gow (27 August 1886 2 February 1978) was an English classical scholar and teacher.
