Lower outer corner of front cover a little bumped & creased, but still square; associated light creasing at tips of lower outer corners of contents throughout, well away from print of any kind. A little sticking damage between lower edges of plates 26 & 27, along 4cm to a height of less than 1cm, confined to margins and well below images. VERY GOOD copy in VERY GOOD unclipped dust jacket nicked and a little rubbed at head of backstrip panel, and with single minor nicks at upper and lower edges of rear panel.

Includes a text together with black and white plus some colour reproductions. Cecil Collins was born in Plymouth, Devon on 23 March 1908. He early life was physically and economically difficult and he was apprenticed to an engineering firm for a year before winning scholarships to Plymouth School of Art (1924-7) and the Royal College of Art in London (1927-31). At the College he won the William Rothenstein Life Drawing Prize. He also met and, in 1931, married Elisabeth Ramsden, a sculpture student, to whom this book is dedicated.
