Manuscript / Paper Collectible
Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Not dated, circa 1937. Edward abdicated in December 1936, stating that he found it impossible to discharge his duties "without the help and support of the woman I love". This publication, on page 2, references the death in early 1936 of Edward's father King George V and the new King Edward's intent to be crowned in Westminster Abbey on 12th May, 1937. Each page carries the header "The Story of King Edward VII". His abdication was added in before it was printed - the paper wrappers reference the abdication and the last page and endpaper contain the abdication message of December 10 and the farewell message of December 11. 165 half tone photographs including front wrapper. Center stapled. Small light stain on front wrapper and very light fading near fold, otherwise very clean.
