Light reading for a winter's evening! This is vol. 22 (??) in the Seeley W. Mudd sponsored series (earliest was 1932) for the American Institute of Mining.Engineers (A.I.M.E.). As one expects of such a technical reference, this text is supported by b/w photos, performance tables, composition graphs, illus. of testing equipment, survey drawings, flow charts and the like. Some typical chapter headings: Copper Ore Mining, Slope Stability, Dewatering and Flood Control, Dump Leaching and Jet Piercing. Each chapter has a different author(s) and each ends w/ a bibliography. Cond: Rust coloured boards and internals are c.c.&t. - as ISSUED with only a prev. owner's stamp distracting. No underlining. D.J. is almost as good w/ two 1 inch tears and three minor ones mostly along top edge. Very tight. Lots of mathematical formulas. Page 507 quote: " The weight of conventional dredges ranges from 125 to 175 short tons per cubic foot of bucket capacity, and is more for deep digging dredges. Elaborate washing and concentrating systems,." Size: 8vo.
