Previous owner's name at front and rear endpapers in pencil, light toning throughout, first several pages (about 35) water-stained not affecting legibility, contemporary leather quite worn, hinges cracking, a good reading copy. This volume covers the period September 14, 1711 - December 18, 1711. The SPECTATOR was a famous series of essays, edited by the members of the fictional Spectator Club. It provided a picture of the social life of the times, while expressing the individual concerns of some of the fictional club members.
