A pleasing copy of Leslie Paul's unusual educational pamphlet, written during his short spell teaching at Ashridge College of Citizenship (19478), in which he sought "to set out the principal authorities on the Soviet Union and to suggest the logical order of reading and study"; Paul had visited the USSR in 1931 and published Co-Operation in the U.S.S.R. (1934). First issued in April 1948 in the Ashridge Quarterly (1930-1948), the publication of Bonar Law Memorial College, Ashridge and affiliated groups. A training centre for the Conservative Party (1929-1954), the college sought to create both "Conservative Fabians," and provide a "College of Citizenship" for "the general education of the electorate", which is where Paul briefly taught.
