Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. (xviii) 146pp plus central section of colour plate illustrations. 12mo/ Signed and inscribed by the author. Burgundy boards with gilt titles, in laminated pictorial dust jacket. As new condition throughout out. DJ now protected in mylar wrapper. Lady Anne Blencowe's receipt book offers an important historical insight into the kitchen and stillroom of a society lady of the late 17th century. The original cannot be found but a reproduction in the 1920s ensured the collection survived. The recipes have been adapted to give modern readers the opportunity to re-create original 17th century dishes. This 2004 edition itself is now very hard to fine and, in my experience, unique in such fine condition. Signed by Author(s).
