Hardcover. Condition: Very Good+. No Jacket. First American Edition. Offers all that is described in the wonderful title, along with "Notes, an Account of Contemporary Etching and Etchers, and a Bibliography of Engraving" by Editor Robert Hoe, Jr. Orig. published in 1879, this is the First American Edition from 1880, with a new Introduction to the same by the Editor. In 336 pages, lavishly illustrated throughout with small steel engravings opening each chapter, + a frontispiece + 7 internal plates, this small quarto (7.0" x 9.5") is bound in deep green cloth over boards with bright gilt design to front/gilt lettering to spine. Condition is VG+: extremely clean, sewn binding strong & secure, hinges intact, pages creamy white with age-appropriate tanning, a bit heavier around edges, but completely unmarked. Modest rubbing to extremities, slight pushing to lower spine, mild bumping to all corners. No DJ, as issued.
