Also 9 engraved plates with tissue guards, ornate embossed gilt and blind stamped dark purple cloth some light rubbing and a slight lean out-of-true, bevelled edges, inscription on FFEP, "John Reynolds from his affectionate aunt M. A. Denton 3rd September, 1864". The book is heavily foxed on both title pages and endpapers and the plates, strangely not affecting th prints themselves but the guards and backs, mainly, contents firm and mainly free of the foxing. Small octavo. *1st printing like this with the photos and an early photographic book, the figure in the doorway is probably the tenant a Ms Fox? The house was demolished in 1969 for another house's driveway?.
