Hardback. Edward Seago, Collins, Forty-Eight Pall Mall London. Condition remarks:Book: Good Jacket: N/APages: Tanning and foxing Markings: Previous ownerA richly illustrated memoir and artistic record, Peace In War chronicles the wartime experiences of Edward Seago, the celebrated British painter who served as a camouflage offic…er and war artist during World War II. With a painter's eye and a poet's sensibility, Seago presents vivid observations of landscapes, people, and the strange quietude that persists even amid the chaos of conflict. The narrative moves through the theatres of war with a reflective, deeply personal tone, illustrating how beauty and humanity endure in the most unlikely circumstances. Seago's prose is as evocative as his brushwork, capturing the tension between destruction and the timeless rhythms of the natural world with remarkable grace and restraint. Hardback.
