Add to basketSoft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 2nd Edition. Bob Holman's written works, in a way, defy categorization. Perhaps that is as he wished it to be. Much of the book seems a kind of Joycean stream of consciousness . a stream that flows through American culture in all its wonderment and grittiness, picking up detritus and transforming it into urgent utterance. Nothing is not worthy of note. But it is all thought - full. There is also an episode of concrete poetry, wherein the author plays with the nature of the printed word on the page. Such efforts are always interesting, and they often take the reader into strange perches of the mind. ********************************************* This is the 1988 Second Edition, and has the added cache of having been inscribed and signed by the author, Bob Holman with an excerpt form one of his well-known poems : " For Jeanne - Night put on its enormous hat! w/ muchas gracias - Bob Holman '93 - Kirkland (A_?_ )[illegible - Academy?] Awards " ********************************************** SERIES : Scripts and Scribbles, No 1 / TITLE : PANIC *DJ, Performance Text - Poems, Raps, Songs / AUTHOR : Bob Holman / IMPRINT : Larry Qualls and Associates / University Arts Resources / PLACE : 141 Wooster St. , New York / DATE : 1988 / EDITION : Second Edition / STATUS : OP SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES : Signed and Inscribed by the Author / PHYSICAL DETAILS : Trade paperback; 93 pages; 5 3/8" x 8 1/2", decorated wraps, glued, printed black on white. ************************************ CONDITION - NEAR FINE - This is a previously owned book that remains clean and attractive, the following noted : : EXTERIOR -- There is a minute ding to the front spine fold, else all is bright and clean / BINDING -- Solid / INTERIOR Other than the author's signed inscription on the title page, the book is clean and free of marking . clean and presentable throughout with but trace signs of handling.
