Hardcover. Condition: Good. Daniel Boorstin's Copy of The Ordeal of Power, a Political Memoir of the Eisenhower Years by Emmet John Hughes. The 5.5 by 8.5 inch hardcover book is 372 pages and in good condition. The navy cloth boards have sharp corners, but fading to the spine. The inside pages are clean, but there are pencil notations to the rear end paper, presumably from Boorstin. However, it is from the Smithsonian library with call number tag to the spine and barcode to the back cover with associated stamping on the front free end page, dated 1976. The dust jacket is tucked inside but there are creases and some tears. This is Daniel Boorstin's copy, with bookplate present inside. Daniel J. Boorstin was the twelfth librarian of congress from 1975 until 1987, appointed under President Ford. He was also an accomplished author of more than 20 books, contributing much to the fields of sociology and history. He was awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 1973, for his book, "The Americans: The Democratic Experience.".
