Foxing and staining on the spine. Touch of wear on the corners. Fore-edges and bottom edges have light foxing. Light foxing also on preliminary pages including the tissue guard for the frontis. Frontis photograph itself is clean. Light foxing from p86 through to the bac paste-down. A previous owner has written a brief note under the image on p.81 and also numbered three other images in tiny script. Bookplate of Kate Bracher who was an Astronomy Professor at Whitmer College. Otherwise, pages are generally clean and unmarked. The author was a renowned American Astrophysicist who developed telescopes for the Mt Wilson and Palomar Observatories and several others.
