Official program for this NBA doubleheader at Madison Square Garden bearing the rare signature of then second year phenom, Maurice Stokes (1933-1970), and his teammate, Richie Regan. Stokes won rookie of the year honors his first year and went on to become a three-time All-Star. His promising career was cut tragically short when in 1958 he suffered a head injury which lead to his inability to play, and eventual death at the age of 36. He was inducted into the Naismith Hall of fame in 2004, and is remembered today with the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award which the NBA founded in 2013. A very important and scarce HOF signature which seldom appears on the market. . 27x20cm, [3], 19pp. Photographs, advertisements. Printed in two colors in stapled wraps. Signed by Maurice Stokes and Richie Regan near their Rochester bios. Slight vertical crease throughout, some smudging and edge wear else very good. Included is an authentication letter from JSA.
