Reliure demi toile titre doré.) - David Riazanov, born David Borisovich Goldendakh (1870 21 January 1938), was a Russian revolutionary, historian, bibliographer, and archivist. Riazanov founded the MarxEngels Institute and edited the first large-scale effort to publish the collected works of these two founders of the modern socialist movement. Defending the autonomy of the unions (against the opinion of the party), he was removed in 1921 from any political responsibility. In 1930, he was sent to a labor camp by the Stalinist political police. Later released, he will be shot by order of Stalin in 1938.
