Covers the regiments history from 1739 as a Marine Battalion to 1881 and home to Britain from Bangalore. The regiment were stationed and fighting in the Peninsula wars at some of the most famous Napoleonic battles fought in Portugal and Spain + Ireland, South Africa, India,Gibralter, Rio de Janeiro, etc. Lists all the Officers. Original red cloth boards with regimental flags embossed, the spine and corners are black leather, the spine has been re-laid and the inside boards strengthened with muted cloth strip at gutter front and back (see photo) All clean and NOT ex-library. A little foxing to endpapers and tissue guard on frontis. The old repair is understated and sympathetic. About VG. Octavo.
