The book covers the Maori history of the region, early settlement and later developments in Napier, Hastings and Wairoa. James Gordon Wilson, a historian and farmer from Hawkes Bay with W T Prentice contributing the Maori history section bring a most interesting and comprehensive account of this region. Condition of book very good, well supplied with b/w photos. Slight edge wear to the spine. Front end-page maps, occasional light foxing internally.
