All are first issues, including the first and rarest book in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopherâ s Stone with â First published in Great Britain in 1997â , the full number line â 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1â , â Joanne Rowlingâ for â J.K. Rowlingâ , and â Thomas Taylor1997â (lacking the space) on the copyright page, â 1 wandâ listed twice (as the first item and last item) on the â Other Equipmentâ list on page 53, Wendy Cooling quote at the base of the front board. Only 500 copies of the first printing were published, 300 of which were distributed directly to libraries. Volumes 2-6 are all first editions and are fine in fine dust jackets. Each volume is signed by J.K. Rowling with the exception of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone which has an original promotional Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone card signed by Rowling laid in. Each are housed in a custom half morocco clamshell box by the Harcourt Bindery. An exceptional set, scarce and desirable, especially signed. One of only 200 proof copies printed Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets , (1998), UK uncorrected proof, published by Bloomsbury. One of 300 proof copies printed Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (1999) first state of the uncorrected proof, published by Bloomsbury. One of only 50 copies printed in purple wraps Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (1999) second state uncorrected proof, published by Bloomsbury. One of 250 copies printed Condition: the proofs are in very good to near fine condition with minor creases, rubbing and soiling to the wraps as expected from paperback proofs. Internally clean. All books are housed in full leather solander boxes with five raised bands, author s name, title and uncorrected proof stamped in gild to the spine. The front panels also bear the HP acronym familiar from the film franchise a lovely touch. An amazing collection and unique chance to obtain the only four uncorrected proofs produced in the entire Harry Potter series. When Rowling published the fourth instalment Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2000) no proofs were issued as the publisher feared that the text could be leaked. This policy was kept for the remaining books as well and without any spoiler leaks kids and adults were queuing up bookstores at midnight of the respective publication dates in order to obtain a copy and start reading the continuation of the Potter saga. The uncorrected proofs contain a number of errors which were later corrected such as a J.A. instead of J.K. Rowling on the copyright page of the Philosopher s Stone copy. Nowadays J.K. Rowling is such a household name that nobody in the world would make such an error but back in 1997 Rowling was an unknown persona. Scarce Uncorrected Proof Copy Given Uncorrected Proofs are sent for READING and review PRIOR to the release of the first printing, this example (1 of only 150 printed) of an early Harry Potter series uncorrected proof is in extraordinary condition. The proof for Azkaban came in two states: a first state in purple wraps which had an assumed print run of 50 copies, and a second state in green wraps with a presumed print run of 150, figures provided by the publisher [Errington 2017: 652-655]. This copy being one of the 150 extremely scarce copies in Green wrappers in stunning vibrant condition. Complete with the Bloomsbury copyright page and the complete number line of 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. This book was issued BEFORE the first printing (see below for the definition of an Uncorrected Proof). Condition: : This copy is in very clean condition, with only some slight tiny spotting areas of discoloration to the wraps mostly evident to the inside interior upper corner of the back wrap; and with very little of the common rubbing/creasing but a bit to same upper edge to the back. The book is internally very clean with No owner names, No inscriptions, No stains, No handling marks, No writing, No discolored pages, No dog eared pages and only the last 3 pages with a slight very faint stain to the upper left corner. (it is very unusual for uncorrected proofs to be internally clean, most likely this book was passed around to several people all in heightened anticipation of the book). Only a scarce few of the uncorrected proofs have come to market in recent years, with this copy being well priced taking its rarity and condition into account. With only 150 copies printed up in Green, having a copy in any condition is a must for a collector of the Harry Potter series! The book was left unrestored, a true depiction of the Harry Potter phenomena. Please see the many detailed images. There were said to be three states but third is now largely accepted to be the first Australian edition. This copy has the requisite dropped text on page 7 and Joanne Rowling listed on the copyright page and the complete number line 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. The book and dust jacket presented here are overall in fine condition with no fading at all, the pages are bright and clean with no inscriptions or marks of any kind. The book is unread, the binding is tight, the boards are square with sharp corners with no foxing of any kind. The pages are clean and free from any creases, marks, ownership inscriptions or writing of any kind. The page edges are almost free from toning, as the top edge does have a very minor tone to it when compared to the bright white of the bottom edge. Overall the book is in fine condition with an unclipped pristine dust jacket protected in mylar. The book comes housed in a dark green quarter leather clamshell box. There are reported to be 5000 first printing copies across both states, however the exact split is not known. It is only known that there are far less first state copies that come to market. This is an extremely scarce book which is getting harder and harder to find in this condition.

Most of these copies have been included in collections over the past twenty years and are very rarely offered for sale. This unread copy is in a marvelous condition, almost like new. The boards have vibrant colours, only very slightly bumped spine ends, corners and cornertips are sharp without any wear or traces of use. The binding is very tight, even still a bit crispy when opening. The pages are exceptionally bright, without the usual toning and without inscriptions, names, dog-ears or other traces of use. The first state dust jacket is inside and outside also in a pristine condition without any fading, discoloration or wear, now protected by a removable Brodart archival cover. This copy was signed in August 1999 for David R. McMillan from Dunblane, Scotland. McMillan, intimately associated with Rowling through publicity work, had the privilege of meeting her several times. An original letter detailing his association with Rowling is included with the book. Also accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity (LoA) from Adam Houston (TheHarryPotterSpecialist), the world's sole J.K. Rowling signature expert and an informative collector's card that provides additional details. The DELUXE edition of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" was released on July 8, 1999, simultaneously with the trade edition, marking the first installment published by Bloomsbury as a collector's edition. The print run for the initial release is unknown, but it is exceptionally limited. In September 1999, Deluxe editions of the first two volumes followed with a larger print run. All subsequent volumes were released concurrently with the trade edition. Due to its extremely restricted availability, the first print run of this title is the most valuable in the series. This holds true for authentically signed copies, which are exceedingly rare. This particular copy was signed shortly after its release, with only a handful of such signed copies in existence. The book is bound in the publisher's original green cloth and appears unread. The condition is near fine. Handling has caused some slight (hardly noticeable) fading at a few points on the edges of the green cloth, but the boards are without any wear. Minor bumped lower spine end, sharp upper spine end and sharp corners. The green endpapers are unmarked, the pages are clean with very mild toning as usual. The gilded bookends have a few minor marks but still look very good. Overall, a very attractive copy of an exceedingly scarce signed book. Signed by Author(s).

Neat little inscription on the first free endpaper, tight binding, bright and clean pages with only very minor browning of the edges. The first state dust jacket is also in a great condition. Very light discoloration and a tiny dust spot on the inside, outside fine without any fading and without any corner- or shelfwear. Jacket now protected by a removable Brodart archival cover. A highly collectible copy.
