First Edition
First edition, first printing. Original green cloth with black titles to the spine. In the dustwrapper. Illustrated with 22 black and white line drawings by Ernest Aris. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the boards very lightly rubbed to the extremities, the corners just very slightly bumped. The contents, with light spotting to the text block edges and prelims, the dedication page with a small closed tear without loss, and with a 1940 gift inscription to the front free endpaper, are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the rubbed and toned price clipped dustrwapper which has a few nicks and short closed tears to the folds. Scarce. A collection of animal tales set around the world.
