Moving beyond traditional reductionist approaches, the book emphasizes the importance of studying wholes rather than isolated parts. Von Bertalanffy outlines principles that apply to a wide range of fieldsfrom biology and psychology to sociology and engineeringproposing that systems exhibit universal behaviors that can be analyzed through common models and methods. This work helped lay the foundation for systems science, influencing areas such as cybernetics, systems biology, and organizational theory. The book will be carefully packaged for shipment using bubble wrap and sturdy cardboard to protect it from the elements.
