Erste Ausgabe. - Die "Pandekten" sind eine ausgearbeitete Pandektenvorlesung, die Emil Friedberg zunächst in der vorliegenden überarbeiteten Fassung und Lewsi in Jahre 1867 in der ursprünglichen Fassung edierte. Das Werk ist in einem frischen und zupackenden Stil geschrieben und spiegelt noch unmittelbar die Vorstellungen seines großen Lehrers Savigny wider. Von Keller (1799-1860), unmittelbarer Schüler von Savigny und bedeutender Vertreter der historischen Schule, lehrte von 1825 bis 1843 in Zürich und wechselte auf Vermittlung von Savigny nach Halle. Im Jahre 1847 wurde von Keller der Nachfolger Puchtas auf dem Berliner Lehrstuhl von Savigny.
