A mixture of fact and near-fiction provide differing aspects in dealnig with wartime experiences and incidents in the18 stories in this book, published during WWII and compiled by the author over two of the years he served in the RNZAF. They reflect the experiences of aircrew and ground staff, dealing with all aspects of service in those dangerous days in a mix of fact and humour. The stories recall, also, the sacrifice they made in wartime. The author was a Flight Lieutenant at the time of publication and the excellent illustrations are a compliment to the artist, Leading Aicraftsman Oriwa T Haddon. The blue covers, with bright front and backstriip titles are unmarked, the front free end paper has an ink gift inscription at top edge, former owner name, with a small brown mark on the opening pages. Otherwise text block excellent.
