Marc-Antoine Jullien (1775-1848), est un révolutionnaire, homme de lettres et pédagogue français. Suite à un désaccord avec Napoléon, en 1810, il doit quitter la France pour l'Italie. Lors de son voyage, il fait la connaissance du pédagogue suisse Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, à Yverdon. L'auteur devient le fondateur d'une nouvelle méthode d'éducation innovante et vulgarise les écrits de Pestalozzi. Il est l'un des promoteurs de l'enseignement mutuel. Bell'esemplare di questa edizione (considerata la migliore e più completa) dell'opera che introdusse in Francia le teorie educative di Pestalozzi.
