Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. AGATHA CHRISTIE - DUMB WITNESS (published in the U.S. under the title "Poirot Loses a Client"), published by UK publisher The Book Club, copyright 1937, orange and light tan quarterbound boards with black lettering to spine, with 4 two-tone pictures printed on glossy paper inside - VERY RARE BOOK TO FIND WITH ITS ORIGINAL DUST JACKET. NOTE: WHILE THIS IS A BOOK CLUB EDITION, IT IS STILL A VERY COLLECTIBLE BOOK IN ITS OWN RIGHT - ITS JUST AS RARE AS THE UK COLLINS 1ST, AND IT ALSO CONTAINS 4 GLOSSY PICTURES (ONE OF CHRISTIE'S DOG WHOM WAS ALSO USED ON THE COLLINS DUST JACKET COVER ART, AND A PICTURE OF CHRISTIE HERSELF POSING AS THE 'VICTIM' IN THE STORY). THIS WAS THE ONLY UK CHRISTIE BOOK THAT WAS PUBLISHED AS A BOOK CLUB EDITION IN THE 1930s AND 1940s. Book has no former owner or used bookstore markings/stamps inside, clean endpapers - no staining or tape residue (some age darkening), no foxing to endpapers or pages or outer page edges, red top stain is nice with no drop spots or fading (foxing/dust soiling to outer page edges), tight white pages with a couple of creased page corners, no wear to board edges, corners or spine tips, no wear to left/right spine hinges, NO SPINE FAD (this book is nortorious for having spine sun fading when its found without its dust jacket), spine lettering is still present and not worn, no dust soiling or staining to boards. Dust jacket has tiny bit of loss at bottom right on front panel and top of spine, couple of tiny nick tears with related creasing along top edge, otherwise no chipping, tearing or creasing, no wear to front flap crease, slight edge wear, no spine fade, slight color rubbing to left/right on spine, slight dust rubbing to white rear panel, no soiling or staining, front panel artwork is quite nice. Overall a VG+/FINE- book in VG original dust jacket of a rare 1930s era UK Agatha Christie 1st book club printing. I have a number of other U.K. and U.S. Agatha Christie 1st printing hardcover books up for sale.
