The author contends that these errors stem from popular political philosophies, a lack of any political philosophy, a mistaken aversion to theory, the shortcomings of language, and the mishandling of time distinctions. By exploring these elements, the book provides a deeper understanding of economics and its complexities. Through analyzing the influence of watchwords like Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, and the impact of social and political theories on economic thought, the author sheds light on how economists' biases and assumptions can shape their conclusions. This insightful analysis is essential reading for economists, students, and anyone seeking to comprehend the intricacies of political economy. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Add to basketBuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - This book examines the flaws and biases present in traditional approaches to the study and teaching of political economy. Bonar argues for a more nuanced and inclusive perspective that takes into account the complexities of economic systems and their impact on society as a whole. Drawing on historical examples and contemporary research, he offers a compelling case for reforming the field and pursuing a more equitable and effective model of economic analysis.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. A very good copy of the extremely rare first hard cover edition of Bonar's charming book, lacking a dust-jacket. Save for one previous owner's name written modestly in ink atop the front free endpaper the text is wholly unmarked, pristine, and the green cloth binding with gilt lettering on the spine is remarkably bright and fresh in appearance, with some very slightly rippling of the cloth along the bottom and side edges of the front and rear cover panels (see the scan), which may be a binding flaw, since there is no evidence of moisture damage to the endpapers. A brilliant copy.
